4-Matter is a disk formatting/erasing program that supports drag and drop, and different names for old and new disks. It also allows you the option of completly re-formatting old disks, or simply erasing them (which is a lot quicker than re-formatting them, and faster than the Finder). Are you someone who gets really annoyed at those people who always seem to know how many days it is until a certain event (ie: ﾒHi John, did you know itﾕs only 278 more days to my birthday? Better make sure you buy me a present!ﾓ). Well, if you canﾕt beat them, join them.
This handy little control panel will let you do just that. Every time you start (or restart) your computer, a little box appears approximately 3/5ths down the screen, telling you how many days there are until the date you specified (if the date has already passed it will give you a nasty little note to say that you have missed it!) Use it to annoy your friends, count down to Christmas, or to know how much longer that someone special in your life is going to be away.

At heart, Iﾕm a lazy person. If I have the choice of doing something using three key presses, or doing it using two key presses, I will use the two key presses every time (wouldnﾕt everyone?). Because Iﾕm so lazy, I used to hate ejecting floppy disks or CDﾐROMs. If I was typing at the keyboard, I had to pick up the mouse, click on the disk icon, and drag the disk icon to the trash. That's why I wrote EjectDisk. Now all I have to do is press a single key (on my extended keyboard), and any floppy disks or CD-ROMs (depending on which key I press) that are currently mounted are unmounted and ejected.

Have you ever been designing an about box for a program you are working on, and been frustrated when you went to place pictures in the about box? In particular, does the process of determining the size of the picture annoy you? Then PictSize is for you!
PictSize is a small utility primarily for programmers, although other people can probably find uses for it. It will tell you the dimensions (in pixels, inches, centimetres or millimetres) and the size (in bytes or K) of any picture (PICT) currently stored in the clipboard. You can then use this information (for example) in ResEdit when placing PICTs in an alert or dialog box. You can also get information about pictures stored in PICT files by either opening the file within the program, or dragging the icon of the file onto PictSizeﾕs icon (System 7 or later).
ShowHelp 2.1.0 - Freeware (source code)
ShowHelp is free source code (a CodeWarrior C project) for a help system that displays styled text in a modal or movable modal dialog box. The text cannot be edited, but can be copied to the clipboard or saved as a SimpleText file. Pictures can be included by the same scheme as used in SimpleText. A pop-up menu allows one to jump to a desired topic faster than by scrolling to it. Originally written by James W. Walker, this version adds support for the arrow keys (as well as home/end/page up/page down), and has been modified to compile under CodeWarrior.
Volume FKEY 1.1.0 - Freeware
Volume FKEY provides an easy way to change the volume on your Mac, without having to go to the Sound control panel to do it. It comes with an installer program, that will let you install and remove the FKEY (NOTE: the remove option will let you remove any FKEY, not just Volume FKEY).
